A beloved parish priest died in the 1800s and was buried by his son in the church graveyard in Upper Slaughter, a village in the Cotswolds in England. He had this sculpture commissioned to watch over his father. It is tucked away at the back of the yard almost overgrown and covered with lichen.
INSPIRATION: Kate Gibson Oswald draws inspiration from nature and poetry, Celtic, classical, and world music, art and architecture, history, and a growing spiritual perspective of the world. Wherever there is “light” Kate can be found exploring it! She is a professional Celtic harpist and teacher, vocalist, songwriter, spiritual healer and photographer. EDUCATION: Graduated from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 1981 and a Bachelor of Education in 1984. Wood sculpture and photography were her media of choice.
